Listening Before Moving
A minute of noticing changes what the next thirty minutes can be.
The first thing we do in most sessions is nothing in particular. Standing or sitting, noticing the floor, noticing the light in the room, noticing whether the breath is high or low today.
It is not a warm up and it is not a ritual. It is information gathering. What you find in that minute decides whether today is a mobility day, a strength day, or a lying on the floor with a blanket day — and all three are practice.
If listening feels uncomfortable or produces nothing, that is also information, and it is common. In that case we start moving and listen while we go.
If any of this resonates, it can be brought into a session — or left exactly where it is.
